Ammonite Fossil, a Spiral of Warm Light
Amber-orange and reddish-brown bring warmth to this ammonite fossil, while grey-green and pale yellow offer a softer contrast. Thin cream-coloured lines trace a tight central spiral as it opens into larger, curved segments. Light catches along these pale divisions, with scattered reflections lending brightness to a face that looks mostly smooth.
Look closer and that smooth impression becomes more varied: fine speckling, granular-looking patches and small dark depressions give the colours their own texture. In an imagined luminous cavern, the spiral could be a winding passage, its cream lines marking turns through amber and green. The eye follows those widening curves back towards the centre, where the broad sweep gathers into a small, tightly held curl.
