Tourmaline’s Little Mosaic of Colour
Light skips across the glossy areas of tourmaline, drawing attention to pink, green, yellow and orange among black, brown and nearly colourless pieces. Some look translucent; others appear opaque, giving the palette a mix of airy and solid notes. Smooth-looking surfaces are interrupted by uneven patches, fine lines and small pits, so the reflections never tell the whole story.
The irregular outlines bring their own rhythm: angular shapes mingle with rounded ones, from oblong chips to triangular and block-like forms. Seen together, they could be fragments of an imagined mosaic, its colours not yet arranged into a pattern.
