This pyrite specimen stands out for its cluster of large, cubic crystals rising from a granular, metallic base. The golden-steel lustre of the iron sulphide and the natural striations on the crystal faces emphasise their almost geometric precision. The contrast between smooth planes and the fine-grained texture gives the piece a sculptural character that works well on a shelf, table or in a display case.
Pyrite is sensitive to moisture, which can cause the surface to dull and oxidise. The specimen should be kept in a dry place and cleaned only with a dry brush.
